10.29.11| Rah Cha Cha Ruckus

On the 29th of October, we attended the 2011 Rah Cha Cha Ruckus in Webster held by Penfield Robotics. Here, we had the chance to use our previous robots to compete in the game Logomotion, one more time. 24 teams from all around the state, and with some outside the state, competed in the event. We advanced through the Qualification Matches with many errors and problems with our robot. We ended up being 9th place out of 24. We advanced to 6th place as the other teams chose their alliances for the Quarter-Finals. We created an alliance with Team 378, and Team 3173. We ended up facing the strongest alliance and ended up losing all of our matches. We were eliminated in the Quarter Finals. However, we enjoyed driving our robot one last time and we won the award "Restless Spirits- The team that best exemplifies the spirit of FIRST." thanks to many of us who screamed our lungs out! We had fun and it was a fun year. Can't wait for next year!

10.29.11 | Logomotion Robot Retired

The Rah Cha Cha Ruckus was the last event this old robot played. Our robot from last year designed to compete in the Logomotion event in 2011, is now officially in retirement. We currently don't know what will happen to it, but most likely, it will be scrapped for parts. It was a good season, even though the robot itself suffered from many, technical issues.

10.13.11 | New Website

The old website we had lasted 6 months and was never entered into the website contest. It was a significant improvement from the other website we had but it just wasn't enough. We created a new better looking website with so many new features, you'd be stunned. It has all new style, javascript animations, comment boxes, animated photo album and video gallery, and much, much more. It can load in almost every device, even if it's outdated 10 years. Hope you enjoy this new look! For a full list of details about our website click here. Comment below and tell me what you think about it.

09.13.11 | A New Season

On September 13, 2011 we had our very first Eastridge Robotics meeting. We met in room E13 in the high school. We met some very familiar faces but also we met an entire bunch of new faces, many of which are freshman this year. We discussed what we do in Robotics, and our first events. We are having a breat cancer walk in October, and we are preparing a stall in a carnival in October.

During the upcoming meetings we will be discussing what we do as a FIRST Robotics team and how we work. We made every member sign up and we described our points system. We also gave each member a packet detailing our different sub teams and officer positions. Team members are required to sign the sheets in the packet to be allowed to attend the Ruckus and to be allowed to board the bus to go to Bausch + Lomb, our main sponsor.
